Home Organization Strategies

Home organization usually starts with de-cluttering. Which sometimes can seem like too much of a job to even take on. That is when breaking it down into small chunks really helps. You can start with the kitchen table, the entryway, the top of the dresser or anywhere. We all have places that accumulate clutter.

There are so many advantages to having an organized home.

First of all, it’s just relaxing. There is something about disorder that just gives a feeling of nervousness and who needs more of that these days?
Second, cleaning will be a lot easier if there isn’t a lot of clutter to pick up and put away first.
Third, there be more time for doing fun activities with family and friends.

How to get organized, then is the question. There are organizers of all kinds that help us keep our things in order.

Closet Organization – Having a well organized closet is a huge help in staying organized. If there is room in the closet then things can be put away instead of being left around the room. So after having a good clean out of the closet, take a look at the different organizers available and see which ones would help to add space and make it easy to get at the stuff that is in there.

Entryway Organization – Coming in and going out – there is always something to be taken along to work or school and to be put down when coming home. Shelves, benches, coat racks and mirrors can all contribute to convenience and less frantic rushing around trying to find things. There are so many attractive shelving systems, benches with pretty storage boxes underneath, coat racks and mirrors that it becomes a pleasure to create an organized entryway.

Living Room Organization – Clearing out the clutter from your living room will definitely make for a more relaxing family life. A high wall storage unit is a big help in freeing up space. A large entertainment unit that is well organized and has doors that close (so you can hide things behind them) will make the room look less cluttered and feel more relaxing.

There is usually some unused space that can be put to use – places like under the stairs, in the attic by the front doors or the garage. Think heavy duty storage shelves for the garage, storage boxes for under the stairs or in the attic, hat racks with a place for umbrellas, coats and such for the hallway, hanging storage, rollaway laundry bins and such in the laundry.
