Busy, busy, busy. We are constantly busy and in a hurry. But we can find the time to prepare decent meals and not have to rely on fast food for all our livelihoods. Preparing meals at home is especially important if you have children. Our children need to know what it's like eating a meal of their own kitchen. And I am a big supporter of the table for families, as you know if you follow my articles. To help you with cheap and easy meal preparation, here are some good recipes. chicken vegetable soup is a soup that is lite done in the crock pot. Throw everything in crockpot in the morning and return to a nice hot soup. For dessert, make this quick microwave apple crisp. Two of these recipes are diabetic friendly.

LITE CHICKEN VEGETABLE SOUP

1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

2 cups reduced-fat and reduced sodium chicken or vegetable broth

2 cups diced or shredded cooked chicken

1 cup frozen any kernel corn

2 ribs celery, chopped

1 can (6 ounces tomato

1 / 4 cup dried lentils, rinsed

1 v. tablespoons Splenda

1 v. tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 v. Tea dried parsley flakes

1 v. Tea dried marjoram

In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until what vegetables are tender.

1 cup = approximately 140 calories, 17 g carbohydrate, 15 g protein

MICROWAVE APPLE CRISP

6 cups sliced, peeled tart apples

2 v. tablespoons Splenda

3 / 4 c. Tea cinnamon, divided

1 / 4 cup water

1 / 2 cup all-purpose flour

1 / 8 v. tea salt

2 v. 2 tablespoons + v. Tea Splenda brown sugar blend

3 v. tablespoons unsalted butter

In a bowl, mix apples with Splenda and 1 / 4 c. cinnamon tea. Place the apples in a square pan 8-inch microwave-safe baking dish. Sprinkle with water. In another bowl, combine flour, salt, mix brown sugar, cinnamon and others. cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 10-12 minutes or until what apples are tender.

Yield = 5 servings at per serving: 257 calories, 49 g carbohydrate, 2 g protein
