Introduction
The state of Gujarat in India, popularly known as the 'Manchester of the East', has a rich heritage of textile crafts. Kutchh The arid region is the richest in the state in terms of cultural heritage. However, there are several other parts of the state who specialize in some type of or other textile crafts. In this article we have outlined some of the traditional textile crafts this beautiful state and have tried to analyze the extent of these crafts.
Bandhni
The craft of 'Tie & Dye ", commonly known as' Bandhni 'or' Bandhej in Gujarat practiced in several areas of the state. Bandhni The term derives from Bandhan ', the Hindu word ", meaning' tied '. Bandhni of Jamnagar, Anjar and Bhuj, are particularly renowned. The Bandhnis of these areas differ from those of other regions in terms of design and craftsmanship.
